During installation, we will remove as much of the mounting solution as possible, but a small amount may remain, causing small water bubbles and a cloudy look. This is normal, and you shouldn't attempt to pierce the bubbles during the dry-out period. Trying to do so may damage your film, and such damage is not covered by the warranty. The trapped moisture will dry out completely over time, so don't worry. However, dry-out time can vary from a few days to up to 6 months depending on the film type and climate conditions. Thicker films and non-optimal climate conditions will increase the dry-out period. Safety and security films may have a longer dry-out period due to their thickness.
Climate conditions can also affect the dry-out time. Cold and non-sunny weather conditions can lengthen the dry-out time, while warm weather and direct sunlight exposure can shorten it.
Do not clean the film for 30 days after installation to give the adhesive time to secure to the glass.
You can use most glass cleaners to clean the film. However, for the best results, we recommend using a cleaning solution of 1/2 ounce of liquid dish soap in 1 quart of fresh water.
To wash and dry your window film surfaces, use fresh, clean, soft materials. A soft cloth or a clean synthetic sponge is ideal for washing, followed by another clean, soft cloth or soft rubber squeegee for drying. Avoid using bristle brushes, abrasive scrubbing sponges, or any cleaning materials that may contain dirt particles. Also, do not use paper towels as some brands can scratch the film, even those with Durogard® protective hard coat finish. Over time, these scratches can damage the polished look of the film.
